The Tradition Continues!

The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce

4th Grade “Why I Love Lakewood” Essay Contest

The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that, in conjunction with virtual events planned for this year’s Light Up Lakewood, the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce will continue the tradition of sponsoring an essay contest for all fourth graders in town. The topic of the essay is: “Why I Love Lakewood”.

If you are in fourth grade or know a fourth-grader who loves to write, or who just plain loves this town, let us hear about it! Topics can include your favorite Lakewood celebrations, your neighborhood, the places you like to shop and eat, the people who live here…whatever you think is great about Lakewood.

The winner will receive a cash prize of $100 and be invited to read their essay during a video recording, for use in this year’s virtual Light Up Lakewood festivities. Essays and entry forms are due at the Chamber of Commerce office at 16017 Detroit Avenue by Friday, November 13, 2020. You can mail your entry, scan, and email to info@lakewoodchamber.org, or stop by and drop it off contact-free by placing it through the slot on the front door.
