2012 Lakewood Criterium

The Lakewood Criterium was held on July 28th. Team Spin, in partnership with the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lakewood, brought this event – along with many cyclists, volunteers, and spectators – to Lakewood for an afternoon of fast-paced cycling.

A criterium, or crit, is a bike race held on a short course, often run on closed-off city center streets. The Lakewood Criterium is held in the West End of Lakewood and features a fast, 6-corner course (see map above).  Last year’s inaugural event was well received by residents, cyclists, and businesses, and the race returned for a second year with help from generous event sponsors.

The Lakewood Criterium offered cycling events for seasoned racers as well as the community at large, and it also offered many types of sponsorship opportunities.
