The City of Lakewood has a number of economic development programs for Lakewood businesses. Click on the program to read more.

  • Economic Development Fund: Up to $200,000 in assistance for catalytic projects.
  • Lakewood SEED: Meant for small business – Up to $15,000 for a new business startup or expansion of existing entity.
  • Lakewood MURAL: Funds for the renovation of apartment units in mixed use buildings.
  • Grow Lakewood: Up to $50,000 for the conversion of a double into a single family home.
  • Commercial Property Revitalization Program: Up to $30,000 in GRANT assistance for the renovation of storefront.
  • GrowNow: Interest rate reduction program designed to help small businesses.


Startup Lakewood Initiative

The Startup Lakewood initiative is a program approved by the City of Lakewood which is geared toward making Lakewood a more appealing place for entrepreneurs to build and grow ideas into legitimate businesses. Startup Lakewood will provide meaningful resources to budding entrepreneurs, specifically centered around helping take ideas and turning them into real businesses.
